Changes to “Send Police/Panic” options & New desktop notifications
UNA Police would like to provide updated information about silent “Panic/Send Police” options and new emergency desktop notifications.
Beginning immediately, the green “Lynx Icon” installed on UNA computer desktops that provided a “Send Police” button has been scheduled for removal.
In an emergency situation, always dial 911, if possible. If you need a silent “Panic/Send Police” option, you should download the Lion Alert 360 App to your smartphone, which provides a “Call 911” button and a “Mobile BlueLight” feature. When the “Mobile BlueLight” is activated, it will simultaneously send your device’s location in real time to a dispatch operator and give you the option to talk to them on the phone, while immediately dispatching an officer to your location.
For more information about how to download the free Lion Alert 360 App visit – https://www.una.edu/lionalert/lion-alert-app.html
Also, our new Lion Alert platform will broadcast Lion Alert notifications on all UNA computer desktops, in addition to the email notifications you will receive (phone text/call option must be manually added to your Lion Alert account for phone alerts options – https://getrave.com/login/una).
