Art Gallery Exhibition -“A Life of Soulful Pursuit” by Catherine Goode Moeller

The Department of Visual Arts and Design at UNA invites you to a
reception celebrating the creative life of Catherine Goode Moeller.
The exhibit presents a selection of drawings, paintings, and
sculptures on loan from the artist’s family and collectors. These
works highlight Cathy’s ability to capture life’s beauty and her
interests in the classical figurative tradition.

A Florence native, Cathy demonstrated artistic talent from an
early age. She studied at the Ringling School of Art and Design
in Sarasota, Florida, and earned her bachelor’s degree in art from
the University of North Alabama. She pursued further studies at
UNA, the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and the University
of Georgia. Cathy was a member of the Tennessee Valley Art
Association and the Watercolor Society of Alabama and served
many years as coordinator of the Helen Keller Festival Arts and
Crafts Show. She worked as a freelance artist for most of her life,
specializing in watercolor prior to shifting her focus to sculpture.
Among her publicly displayed works are the uniquely crafted bas-relief
sculptures that adorn the pillars of the UNA Mitchell Burford
Science building.
