Course Offering – ITD 205: Digital Literacy – Gen Ed Area IV Course with AI & Digital Media Focus

With growing interest in AI-related course offerings and the recent release of UNA’s AI policies and guidelines, we want to highlight ITD 205: Digital Literacy. Approved for General Education Area IV, ITD 205 equips students with essential digital literacy skills, addressing key issues such as Al’s role in information dissemination, social media influence, and responsible online engagement.

Course Overview
ITD 205: Digital Literacy explores how emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, are reshaping how students access, create, and evaluate information.

Topics include:
AI & Information: Fundamentals, applications, biases, and ethical considerations.
Digital Media & Misinformation: Social media influence, fake news, filter bubbles, and confirmation bias.
SIFT Method: A proven strategy for assessing online information credibility.
