UNA Black History Speakers Series Presents a Screening of Echoes of the Forks of Cypress

The UNA community is invited to attend the Black History Month Speakers Series event on February 17 at 11am in the GUC Performance Center.

This year, we will have a screening of Echoes of the Forks of Cypress, a documentary that focuses on the Forks of Cypress plantation and how descendants of the plantation owners and the descendants of the enslaved people held on the plantation are working together to share their family histories.

The documentary is roughly 45 minutes long. After the screening, we will have a conversation led by Frederick Murphy, the director of the film, and members of the community featured in the film.

There will be refreshments available.
