The University is required to provide a list of these eligible employees to the state Ethics Commission. A separate confirmation email will be provided to those employees whose name has been submitted to the Ethics Commission. \nEmployees should access the form at https://seiform.alabama.gov/. The deadline for filing a 2025 Statement of Economic Interests Form is April 30\, 2026. You will be required to create an account before filling out the form for new filers. Please see the information below for additional details regarding the creation of an account. If you have previously created an account\, select “Filer Login”. \nThe online application requires new filers to create an account to file their form. The website (accessed using the link above) provides instructions for creating and confirming your account. Once you have created your account and set a password (minimum size of 8 characters)\, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to confirm your account. WARNING: the confirmation email may be sent to your JUNK folder. Once you have confirmed your account through your email\, you can login. Click “New” to begin entering information. Do not click the back button as this will lose your data and you will have to start again. Unfortunately\, UNA Human Resources is unable to provide SEI website assistance. \nPlease note in the instructions that there is a penalty for failure to file the form. \nIn addition\, if your date of hire was in 2025 and/or if you have not yet completed the mandatory prerequisite training for all public employees required to file the Statement of Economic Interest Form\, you must access the training through the website at http://ethics.alabama.gov/training/intro.aspx and watch the interactive training video. The Ethics Commission will be notified electronically that your training has been completed. The Ethics Commission requires that each employee complete and print the Certificate of Completion at the end of the video; the certificate will be date/time stamped automatically. You should provide a copy of this certificate to Human Resources (UNA Box 5043) to file for verification for the Examiners of Public Accounts. \nIf you have any questions regarding your requirement to prepare a Statement of Economic Interests Form\, please contact this office. \nIf you have any questions about the content of the Statement of Economic Interests\, the login/account process\, or the SEI website in general\, please call the Alabama Ethics Commission at 334-242-2997 (available to answer the phone Monday through Friday\, 8:00am to 5:00pm). Or\, you can email sei@ethics.alabama.gov. \n*According to the guidelines\, a “supervisor” is defined as “any person having authority to hire\, transfer\, suspend\, lay off\, recall\, promote\, discharge\, assign\, or discipline other public employees\, or any person responsible to direct them\, or to adjust their grievances\, or to recommend personnel action\, if\, in connection with the foregoing\, the exercise of the authority is not of a merely routine or clerical nature but requires the use of independent judgment.
