Campus Resources

Introduction

Consistency and cohesion are at the core of every memorable brand. That’s why the UNA Design Team has created sub-branding logos for various departments, offices, colleges, and schools across campus. Below, you’ll find a guide on how these logos should be used as well as the resources you’ll need to make working with them easier.

Sub-branding External Facing

Sub-branded logos are available to all academic departments and administrative units. These sub-branded marks may appear in full color or one
color and includes the college name, and if desired, the department name. Use the horizontal version of the primary logo as the basis for all sub-branded logos.

Metrics for external sub-brands are detailed here. Requests for customized logo files should be made to the Office of Enrollment Marketing and Digital Communications.

Best Practices for Program and Service Promotion

A University of North Alabama chemistry student wears protective eyewear as she works with chemicals. On the left side of the image is text that reads Department of Chemistry & Physics. A thin white line separates that text from the official logo for the School of Natural Sciences, Engineering, & Mathematics.

Branding Application

Choose the official university, division, college, school, department, or office logo that best represents your primary sponsor. Then, select the vertical or horizontal version that fits your layout best. If adding a program, service, or other expression alongside the logo, separate it with a thin purple or white line, using the approved spacing from the visual identity guide. Expressions of official titles should be set in Noto Serif, while program or service names may use either Noto Serif or Work Sans.

Campus Signage

Please avoid using disposable, easily damaged forms of communication in your campus signage. Using the visual guidelines or partnering with our graphic design team, create branded signage that conveys clarity and consistency. Use minimal language and colors, sticking to simple wording and designs that use UNA Purple and White as your primary colors. For permanent signage, avoid using metal, wood, or highly textured materials. Acrylics and other smooth materials work best to convey a welcome, comfortable environment while also serving to maintain color consistency.
